These two acronyms are probably the most important things you can do for your business if you want to thrive in the online world. They stand for Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing. The first, SEO is the process of setting up your website “organically” (not paid advertising for clicks) so that it is best found by search engines such as Google. The second, SEM is the paid portion or buying keywords so that you appear at the top of searches in the sponsored links section. The most well known form of this is Google Adwords.
There are lots of companies out there that profess to be experts in both, but the proof is in the pudding. See “Kid Eats Wasabi” an exercise in SEO. on our main page. Anyone can promise you that they will get you on the first page of a Google search, but at what price? We have been working in the realm of SEO and SEM since the dawn of Google and have read virtually every book on the subject, attended varied seminars on SEO and SEM, and have actually implemented successful campaigns for clients. Everytime, we have been able to save these clients thousands of dollars in unneeded expense and improve their overall placement and sales, but don’t take our word for it.
“Before I met with Matt Ross from DigitalHipster, I was given outrageous quotes from SEO companies and even tried Google Adwords with little results and great expense. My window cleaning business, www.WindowBright.com is one of the biggest in Las Vegas, but we were losing the battle online. Within a few hours, Matt had our company showing up on the first pages of search in multiple categories for a fraction of the cost of other so called “SEO experts.”
